Evo-Devo of patterns & shapes
Evo-Devo of Shapes and Patterns

The AMV lab studies how animals, like butterflies and moths, develop and evolve. The aim is to explore genetic changes that drive diverse morphological traits.
In the world of genome sequencing, we're uncovering more and more genetic building blocks behind adaptive traits in nature. But the big question is: how do these genetic changes actually shape the development of these traits? And how do novel patterns evolve? That's where our research program comes in. We are diving into functional genetics, genomics, and developmental biology to unravel the secrets of how these adaptive traits develop and evolve.
