Research interest

To understand how animal shapes arise and diversify.
I am a biologist specialized in genetics, developmental biology, and evolution. My research aims to elucidate molecular mechanisms involved in the development of organisms, mainly animals of ecological interest, such as butterflies and moths. I implement genetics, comparative genomics, and developmental biology tools to investigate what genetic changes underline morphological traits and their evolution.
Keywords: Butterflies, color patterns, complex morphology, gene regulation, genomics, development and evolution.
